New Vogue issue-September 2009

SEPTEMBER Vogue, fronted by a pouting Sacha Pivovarova in beaded leopard-print Balenciaga, brings with it the season's trend guide from the latest round of international shows. Vogue Loves details the finer nuances of adding leather, draping, shoulders and velvet to your wardrobe for the coming winter - but do you dare to wear them with the season's new boot length: thigh-high?

Also on fashion's front line, actress Rose Byrne invites us in to her dressing room as she prepares for fashion's biggest annual party, the Met Ball where she found herself in the illustrious company of Kate Moss and Madonna as one of host Marc Jacobs chosen muses. And, in case your budget won't stretch to the catwalk buys, More Dash Than Cash takes us through some surprising high street reworks of classic items; including the trench, biker jacket and the humble cardigan, to revamp your autumn wardrobe.

In advance of the September Collections issue, Patrick Demarchelier helms a quartet of shoots which give us a peek in to the autumn/winter collections in the world's fashion capitals. Pivovarova and Freja Beha showcase Prada's oversized waders and Versace's new-age safety pins in Milan, whilst delicate British beauty Lily Alen sports Lanvin and Chanel in Paris

Elsewhere in the City of Light, Gallic actress Audrey Tautou talks about assuming the mantle of the city's greatest dressmaker, Coco Chanel- whilst Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman meets the modern generation's go-to man for glamorous dressing,Alber Elbaz who declares of the global economic climate: "Next to chocolate, next to a pink rose, the only thing that makes us happy is...a pink dress."
